Good day Puan Sri, first and foremost, we are thrilled when we received recommendations from our principal to feature you as one of the remarkable personalities in Affluent Luxe. We have been told that you are one of the highly recognized icons in culinary scene despite your appearance in Live-Cooking Show.
"When/how do you realize your passion in cooking?"
/My late mama grew up cooking from scratch. It’s all she knew because convenience foods weren’t an option. She learned how to cook from her mother by handfuls and pinches instead of cups and tablespoons. She cooked by memory and by feel. I so understand that now.
You see, the women in my family must know how to cook, it’s not an option and they do things the old ways and carried around a vast amount of knowledge. At a very young age, as a child, I was the observer, listener and digested the tips and skills my late mama use to say without teaching. Just sharing it because she was so in love with cooking that talks a lot while cooking. The talk was always about what she cooks and how she knows her cooking will be delicious. Her cerita of recipe creation and mixing the spices and herbs were endless! Sometime I had no clue then what she was talking about!.
Cooking means family and love. Cooking meant family unity and get together. Cooking was in her soul. As a child then, I begin to see how my late mama managed the household single handed. So you can see where my passion for cooking originated. It’s a long story that I just cut short for you. My cooking journey has emotional attachment that left short unforgettable stories in my life.
Food is appreciated more and tastes better when it’s cooked from scratch and made with love. When you touch the spices and smell the herbs it truly feeds the soul.
"Cooking is not for everyone but enjoying delicacies will always be everyone favorite. What are your signature recipes which our audience should try?"
/I seriously believe that everyone or anyone can cook. It’s our perception and most of the time is the laziness to clean up. But once, just once, you learn a new simple recipe that is a no brainer and make it, you may fail once, twice maybe but the third time… you nailed it! Then cooking becomes simple, easy and tasty.
My signature dishes our audience should try is …oh wow! Many!!! *LoL*
Biryani Yemen, a dish that I learned from my late mama and I have recreated it many times to perfect it my way. My friends, royalties to notable personalities have repeatedly lavished themselves with this special dish I personally cook for them.
Dhalcha vegetable, lamb or beef is another signature dish that I also learned from my late mama. It is a dish I love to make. It has so many emotional feel and memories in it.
Both these dishes are special to me. There is a lot of unforgettable memories in it. I feel these two special significant dishes is a must try from me although I have few more signature dishes like Asam Pedas and Fish Head Curry.
"We have seen several of your personality show and we noticed you have never stopped showcasing various signature cuisine. How did you manage to discover the creativity and innovation in between these wonderful recipes?"
/I believe cooking is an art. Cooking is like music and when you put together the ingredients and trust your heart while creating the recipe together, you created an orchestra. It’s like dancing with the music in your heart, triggering all your sensory and I just know, I have created something beyond my own imagination. I can’t explain it because, when you put your heart into something, like a painter or a musician, I begin to make art in my recipes and bring soul into it. A recipe is just a recipe. It becomes alive, delicious and tasty when you put your heart and love into that recipe.
The way you slice the onions, chop the scallions, dice the potatoes or cut the meat; you create a relationship with the recipe. That’s when the recipe is crafted beautifully. It becomes alive.
"Besides conducting cooking class and culinary show, you have curated few different pastes under the product lines. Which is the most sellable paste till date? Where can our audience buy the products"
/My cooking class is a major move this year 2020, moving forward in line with Nisabakri products of various pastes. The cooking class is conducted like a masterclass style. Which means, it is not just about recipe sharing but I will teach the skills, techniques, tips about food, raw products to kitchen management. It is intensive class filled with applied knowledge.
The most sellable paste is Asam Pedas, Fish Head Curry and Gulai Ayam Berinai. The versality in using the paste to cook many different types of recipes are taught in my cooking class.

"You have gained numerous recognitions and awards. As entrepreneur, empowering younger generation is always ongoing task. What are your biggest achievement till date in terms of empowerment?"
/Every award I received defines my presence in our community as an empowering influencer. Moving away a little as an entrepreneur, my aim to be a philanthropist has notably been recognised when I received the “Most Outstanding Asian Entrepreneur 2019” in Bangkok by AWEN (Asian Women Entrepreneur Network). Out of 40 nominated women, 9 was selected and I was one of them. That moment, I realise my consistent driven business plans which includes charitable programs in the last 6 years has proven to be a fruitful and recognised internationally. I believe helping others begins from zero profit. What does that mean zero profit?
People always think charity starts when you have that extra money in your pocket. To me zero profit means, I as a person is a profit. Profit is already in us all. Handing out our hearts to the less fortunate does not need real money as per say, but charity is from our hearts. The true profit begins there. We instantly get rich overnight when our hearts shares that love of profit instilled in us from birth.
"Tell us a little bit more about your family, does your children follow your carrer path by pursuing the similar profession?"
/Well NO! my daughter, I have only one daughter and 2 step children whom I love very much. Junita my daughter, she graduated in law but somehow went into IT marketing! Azureen also graduated in law, she likes selling and see money in her hands! So I see her as the budding future entrepreneur who is a good deal maker!
Azree he is an automotive engineer. he is into oil and gas. I am very proud of my children own achievements. The most important factor is they as individuals seek their own independence in finding their own career path. That is empowering.
